Important! Updates on CF Markville Mall Re-development Plan
The updated Official Plan Amendment (OPA) for the CF Markville redevelopment will be presented at the Markham Development Services Committee (DSC) meeting on Monday, April 22 at 7:00 PM at the Markham Civic Centre Council Chamber (101 Town Centre Boulevard). While the maximum building height has been reduced slightly (from 45 to 39 storeys), the total number of residential units has increased to 4,500, raising serious concerns about overdevelopment, traffic congestion, school capacity, and insufficient community infrastructure.
We strongly encourage all residents to attend this important public meeting to show support for responsible development and ensure your voices are heard. Even more importantly, if you have concerns, please consider making a deputation—a brief speech (in person or virtual) where you can share your views directly with Markham Council. Your input makes a difference and helps Council understand the real impact of this redevelopment on our neighborhoods.
To register for a deputation, visit the City of Markham’s website or contact the Clerk’s Office. You can also register a deputation on site during the meeting. Let’s work together to protect the future of our community!

Updates on Markville Secondary Plan
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all Markham residents who participated in the community information meeting on June 27. Your strong turnout and valuable input demonstrated the community’s deep interest in shaping the future of Markham. The Markville Community Association (MCA) has gathered your feedback and, in collaboration with six other community associations, submitted a letter to the City of Markham requesting that the city take your concerns and suggestions into account for the Markville Secondary Plan. You can view the letter here: Letter to Markham City regarding Markville Secondary Plan. City staff are expected to present an updated version of the Secondary Plan to City Council by the end of the year. The MCA will continue to follow up with the city and will keep residents informed as updates become available.
